Baptism

Water Baptism

Baptism means "immersion" "dipping" or "burying" and it is not the same as sprinkling of water. It symbolizes one's association and identification with Jesus' burial, death, and resurrection (Colossians 2:12, Romans 6:3-12).

The Burial & the death - means dead to sin. No longer wants to respond to sinful and "fleshy" (lustful) desires. Your old man (fallen and evil nature) is dead.

The Resurrection - means that you are alive in Christ Jesus. You are ready to follow Jesus Christ with the whole of your heart and life. You can now live the life that pleases God. You can not have access to all the treasures that can only be found in Jesus Christ. You can now walk in the authority of Jesus Christ. You are now part of Jesus' family by adoption through the blood of Jesus. You are ready to follow Christ no matter the persecution and suffering.

Baptism is accomplished only when you are dipped or immersed totally in the water and this can only be possible when you are baptized inside a water body of huge quantity and not by sprinklings (John 3:36, Acts 8:36). Also, baby baptism is not scriptural; anyone wanting to be baptized must make a conscious decision after hearing the Gospel, repenting, confessing Jesus (His death, burial, and resurrection), as the way, the truth, and the life, and understanding its purpose. Babies are not conscious nor do they yet have understanding.
